Auburn, Ala. - Approximately 20 members of military families from Ft. Benning, Ga., attended the Auburn vs. Mississippi State baseball game on Saturday, May 3, 2008. Camouflage Kids, a non-profit organization founded by Jeff Nix and based in Indiana, donated game tickets and meal vouchers so that the group could attend the game. The majority of the students who attended were in fourth and fifth grade.
This was the group's second visit to an Auburn Athletics event. Fifty members of the group attended the Auburn vs. Xavier men's basketball game this past January.
Jeff Nix, former Director of Scouting for the New York Knicks, founded Camouflage Kids in 2005, to provide tickets to collegiate athletic events to military families who have been impacted by deployment.
In addition to attending an Auburn Basketball game this year, Camouflage Kids has also donated basketball tickets for families to attend games at both Michigan State and Indiana. For additional information on Camouflage Kids, visit http://www.camokids.org/.
