LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Ten players involved in the Auburn softball program have been named 2016-17 Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division I Scholar-Athletes, the NFCA announced Tuesday afternoon.

The 10 honorees rewarded for their achievements in the classroom include Kelsey Bogaards, Kasey Cooper, Victoria Draper, Whitney Jordan, Justus Perry, Morgan Podany, Emily Spain, Ashlee Swindle, Sydne Waldrop and Carlee Wallace.

The honors recognize the academic prowess of student-athletes on softball teams across seven membership divisions. NCAA Division I, with 1,843 honorees, had the most student-athletes with a 3.5 grade-point average or higher.

Auburn has placed 29 student-athletes on the prestigious list over the past three seasons.
