AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn's Megan Schofill was named an All-American Scholar by the Women's Golf Coaches Association on Tuesday. It's the second straight year the organization has recognized Schofill as part of the WGCA All-American Scholar Team.
Schofill, a Communications major, recently completed her sophomore year at Auburn where she finished with a 3.83 GPA. Golfers are required to have a minimum 3.50 GPA to be considered.
On the course, Schofill led the Tigers with an average score of 72.52. She shot par or better in 14 of her 25 rounds and won her second collegiate tournament, sharing individual medalist honors at the Liz Murphey Fall Collegiate Classic. It was one of two top-10 finishes on the season for Schofill who earned Second Team All-SEC honors.
Last month, Schofill was one of five from the Auburn women's golf team to make the 2021 Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll. She was named to the 2019-20 First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll following her freshman year.
Auburn has now had a WGCA All-American Scholar in 13 of the last 14 years.
