He is Auburn the Director of Player Development for Auburn Men's Basketball. Marquis Daniels has been through a lot in the last year. His wife, Shana, a former Auburn Women's Basketball player, died in June after a long battle with cancer. The Marquis and Shana Daniels Endowed Scholarship has been developed in Auburn's College of Education in her honor.

During his career at Auburn, Marquis scored 1,532 points with 208 steals. He played on two NCAA Tournament teams, including a run to the Sweet 16 in 2003. He averaged 23 points and seven rebounds during that March Madness.

Daniels spent a decade in the NBA playing for Dallas, Indiana, Boston and Milwaukee. He scored over 4,300 points in the Association.
