OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Senior shortstop Deric Fabian has been named to the watch list for the 2025 Brooks Wallace Award presented to the nation’s best shortstop, the College Baseball Foundation announced Friday.

Fabian is one of 100 shortstops named to the initial list, including 10 from the Southeastern Conference.

The Ocala, Florida, native is one of two Auburn players to start in all 38 games this season and has earned 37 starting nods at shortstop. He has turned in a .980 fielding percentage, committing just three errors in 153 total chances, and has helped turn 16 of the team’s 32 double plays, good for second in the league.

Through 38 games this season, Fabian has already collected career highs in runs, hits and RBI.
