AUBURN, Ala. – Rodney Hill, who spent the last two seasons at Texas A&M, will join the Auburn women’s basketball staff as an assistant coach, it was announced today by head coach Larry Vickers.

“Our program got better today with the addition of Rodney Hill,” Vickers said. “Rodney is one of the more passionate and energetic coaches in the country. He has great recruiting ties throughout the south, and our player development visions align with one another.”

Hill served as an assistant coach at Texas A&M, his alma mater, from 2023-25.

“I’m thrilled to begin this next chapter at Auburn alongside Coach Larry Vickers,” Hill said. “He is an elite X’s and O’s mind and a coach whose integrity speaks for itself. I’m eager to get to work and contribute to the winning standard he’s establishing here on the Plains. War Eagle!”

In his first season at A&M, he helped lead the Aggies to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2021. The Aggies also showed a 10-win improvement from the previous season.

Hill came to Texas A&M after one year as an assistant at TCU. Prior to that, he was the head coach for SA Finest, leading his 17U team to a national title in 2021.

He was on staff at Lamar for the 2019-20 season as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. Prior to that, he spent the 2017-19 seasons in the high school ranks at Bishop Lynch High School. His first full-time collegiate coaching job came during the 2016-17 season at Texas State.

Hill also has WNBA experience as he served as assistant director of operations for the Dallas Wings for the 2016 season. He also spent a year at TCU as video coordinator in 2015-16 and was a graduate assistant at Urbana University in 2014-15.
