AUBURN, Ala. – For the 30th time in program history, Auburn has received a bid to the NCAA Championship. The Tigers have been selected to participate in the NCAA Gold Canyon Regional at Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club in Gold Canyon, Arizona, as the 3-seed. The regional, hosted by Arizona State, will take place May 5 through May 7.
“I know exactly how to drive there,” Auburn head coach Melissa Luellen said about Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club. “I spent 13 years in the desert and know what to expect, so that will help prepare our team. Although the fairways are generous, your ball can find the desert. You have to know not to mess around with the desert and just get your ball back in play. I think we’ll do some premium on fairways but some extra time on fairway bunker shots and a lot of lag putting.”
No. 17 Auburn will be joined in the regional by Oregon, Arizona State, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, California, Virginia Tech, San Jose State, Sacramento State, Cal State- Fullerton, Navy and Quinnipiac
The top five finishing teams from each of the six regional sites across the country will advance to the 2025 NCAA Championship at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California. Last season, the Tigers won the NCAA Auburn Regional by four strokes to punch their ticket to the championship, where they became national quarterfinalists.
