AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn freshman Alex Frusina has been named second team All-SEC as well as to the SEC All-Freshman team, the conference office announced on Thursday.

In his first season on the Plains, Frusina has made an impact as the Tigers’ regular at the No. 2 position in both singles and doubles this season. Frusina is 20-11 overall in singles this season and 15-8 in dual matches between the No. 2 and No. 3 singles positions. The freshman has earned three ranked singles victories this season, including a 6-4, 7-5 win over No. 13 Sebastian Gorzny of Texas.

In doubles, Frusina and his regular doubles partner Joey Phillips have a 12-11 dual match record this season. Frusina reached as high as No. 57 in the ITA singles rankings this season and is currently ranked No. 69. The Conroe, Texas native was named SEC Freshman of the Week twice this spring on Feb. 5 and March 12.

Frusina’s All-SEC selection marks the 58th in program history. Auburn has now had an All-SEC player each of the last five seasons.
