AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn sophomore Anna Davis will begin her quest for the NCAA individual championship on Friday at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa Champions Course in Carlsbad, California. Four rounds of stroke play will be contested Friday through Monday, with an individual champion crowned at the conclusion of 72 holes.
The championship format includes 30 teams and six individuals competing in 54 holes of stroke play. The top 15 teams, along with the top nine individuals not on an advancing team, will then play one additional round of stroke play to determine the top eight teams for match play and the 72-hole individual champion.
Davis earned her spot in the championship field after finishing as the top individual not on an advancing team at the NCAA Gold Canyon Regional. She shot a 1-under 215, highlighted by an opening-round 69.
In her second season of college golf, Davis was named first-team All-SEC after earning second-team All-SEC and SEC All-Freshman honors in 2024. This season, she won the Charles Schwab Women’s Collegiate Invitational with a program-record 54-hole score of 201 (-9), which included a bogey-free 64 in the final round. Davis also claimed the individual title at the Illini Invitational at Medinah in the fall after carding a 203 (-13).
Last season, Davis tied for 19th place in the stroke play portion of the NCAA Championship at Omni La Costa, shooting a 292 (+4) and helping lead the Tigers to the match play portion of the event.
Davis will tee off in her opening round at 4:02 p.m. CT on Friday alongside Marie Madsen of NC State and Moa Svedenskiold of Houston. She will then play with the same two players beginning at 10:42 a.m. CT for the second round on Saturday.
