OKLAHOMA CITY – Auburn softball co-head coach Chris Malveaux has been named to the U.S. Women’s National Team Coaching Pool for the 2025-2028 quad, the organization announced Monday.

As part of the pool, Malveaux will help guide the team at WNT Camps and international events. The pool was approved by USA Softball Board of Directors. Patty Gasso (Oklahoma) will lead the WNT as head coach. Malveaux joins John Bargfeldt, Trisha Ford (Texas A&M), Kelly Kretschman (AUSL Volts), JT Gasso (Oklahoma), Lincoln Martin, Stacey Nuveman (San Diego State), Jen Rocha (Oklahoma) and Natsha Watley as assistant coaches for the team.

"It is truly an honor to serve as a coach for the Red, White, and Blue,” Malveaux said. “Thank you to coach Gasso and the USA Board of Directors for this incredible opportunity!"

Malveaux is currently in his first season as co-head coach at Auburn alongside his wife, Kate. The duo has led the Tigers to a 32-21 record over their debut season and are preparing Auburn for its postseason run. The Tigers have seen dramatic improvements under Malveaux, surpassing their 2024 hits total, runs scored total, extra-base hits total and wins total ahead of Tuesday’s opening round of the SEC Tournament. The team has also improved its slugging percentage by 50 points from a season ago under

He previously served as an assistant coach at Tennessee, helping the Lady Volunteers to back-to-back Southeastern Conference titles in 2023 and 2024 and a Women’s College World Series appearance in 2023. Over three seasons at Tennessee, the team achieved 136 wins, ranking 10th nationally and second in the SEC.

A Houston native, Malveaux worked at the University of Missouri from 2019 to 2021 as an assistant and then as associate head coach, while also previously spending time at Kansas (2018), Louisiana (2009-2011 & 2016-2017), Bradley University (2012-2015) and McNeese State (2002-2008).
