ATHENS, Ga. – Senior outfielder Abbey Smith was selected to the 2025 SEC Softball Community Service Team, the conference office announced Tuesday.

The SEC sponsors Community Service Teams for all 22 league sponsored sports. The Community Service Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.

Smith is a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee at Auburn and is highly active within the organization while serving as the Mental Wellness Chair. Through SAAC, Smith has been highly involved around campus and within the Auburn community through various service projects.

The Houston, Texas, native has helped collect and sort donations for the Beat Bamma Food Drive. She spent time with residents over the holiday season at Monarch Estates Retirement Community.

Smith has been highly involved with the EAGLES program, which is Auburn University’s comprehensive transition program for students with intellectual disabilities. The program was able to practice with Auburn softball earlier this season.

She also helped raise awareness for Alzheimer’s disease by participating in the community’s annual Alzheimer’s Awareness Walk.

Also impressive in the classroom, Smith is a three-time SEC Honor Roll member and is a two-time Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete.

Smith and the (15) Tigers open the 2025 SEC Softball Tournament later this evening against (10) Alabama. First pitch on the SEC Network is estimated for 6 p.m. CT.
