FORT WORTH, Texas – For the second consecutive year, Auburn sophomore Jackson Koivun has been named a top-three finalist for the Ben Hogan Award, the Hogan Foundation announced Tuesday.

This year’s finalists represent the top three players in the world amateur golf rankings (WAGR) – Luke Clanton of Florida State (1), Koivun (2) and North Carolina’s David Ford (3).

All three men will attend a black-tie dinner Monday, May 19, at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, where the winner will be crowned.

The Ben Hogan Award is given annually to the top men’s NCAA Division I, II or III, NAIA or NJCAA college golfer based on all collegiate, amateur and professional events over the previous 12 months.

Koivun has not slowed down after becoming just the second freshman in history to win the Hogan Award one year ago. The Chapel Hill, North Carolina native boasts a phenomenal 68.90 scoring average with nine top-20 finishes in 11 starts.

He claimed his third career individual win to open the season last September in Ohio at the Inverness Intercollegiate. Last month at the SEC Championship, he claimed win No. 4, birdieing five of his final six holes to become the tournament’s first back-to-back low medalist in 50 years.

Koivun and company kick off the NCAA Tournament at home next week, May 12-14, hosting the NCAA Auburn Regional at Auburn University Club. Public admission is free for the entirety of the event.
