AUBURN, Ala. – Rachel Corbelli, who enters her fourth season on Auburn Volleyball's staff, has been promoted to associate head coach, head coach Brent Crouch announced Thursday.
“Rachel has done an outstanding job since she arrived at Auburn,” said Crouch. “Her relationships with our student-athletes and incoming recruits have led to the direct success we’ve seen on the court. She’s an excellent coach with a proven track record and I look forward to working with her side-by-side. War Eagle!”
Focusing on defense, Corbelli has helped the Tigers become one of the strongest teams in the Southeastern Conference. Since her arrival on the Plains, Auburn has finished no lower than sixth in the SEC in opponent hitting percentage.
“I’m extremely thankful to Brent, our administration, our staff and the student-athletes who make this program special,” Corbelli said. “They make it easy to show up every day excited to build this program for the Auburn Family. I have an enormously strong belief in what we are doing and the way we are doing it, and I’m honored to continue that work alongside all of the incredible people here on the Plains.”
Corbelli’s guidance of the Tigers’ back row has seen Auburn jump well into national prominence. Last season, the Tigers averaged 15.62 digs per set, good enough for the third-best average in the conference and the fifth-best single-season average in the rally-scoring era.
Auburn held opponents to a hitting percentage of .199 or lower 13 separate times in 2024, resulting in a 12-1 record in those contests.
The College Station, Texas native has overseen Auburn’s return to the NCAA Tournament in 2022, the program’s first-ever back-to-back berths in the NCAA Tournament in 2023, back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time since 1991-92 and Auburn Volleyball’s first appearance in the top-25 Coaches Poll.
