AUBURN, Ala. – In the final weekend of the regular season, Auburn softball (30-21) welcomes NC State (25-27) for a three-game series at Jane B. Moore Field.

“If we can control the zone and make their staff work, eventually they are going to bring you what you want at the plate,” said co-head coach Kate Malveaux. “We play our game. We don’t issue any free passes. Keep attacking what we want to attack. I want our defense to keep playing at the level at which they are playing. In the circle, our stuff is good enough to toe to toe with anyone in the country, especially when we’re working ahead. We do all this; we’ll be just fine.”

The series opens on Friday at 6 p.m. CT. An on-field graduation ceremony will be held prior to first pitch for the Tigers’ graduating seniors. Saturday is Senior Day at Jane B. Moore Field as the Tigers will honor their 2025 senior class of Amelia Lech, Aubrie Lisenby, KK McCrary, Nelia Peralta, Haley Rainey, Rose Roach, Abbey Smith, Icess Tresvik and Anna Wohlers. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. CT.

Sunday’s series finale is slated for 1 p.m. CT. In honor of May the Fourth, fans can receive a free Auburn softball Star Wars shirt. Vouchers will be given to fans at the gravel lot entrance only. Shirts may be redeemed at the bottom of the third inning.

All three games are available on the SEC Network+. JJ Jackson and Graham Doty will be in the booth throughout the weekend. Brit Bowen will have radio coverage on WEGL 91.1 FM and the Auburn Sports Network over the weekend. He’ll be joined by Brant Daughtry (Friday), Carson Meier (Saturday) and Noah Phillips (Sunday).

Auburn and NC State have met twice prior with Auburn taking wins in both previous meetings. Friday marks the first time since 2010 that two teams have met on the softball diamond. Auburn took a 2-1 win in Columbus, Georgia, as part of the NFCA Leadoff Classic. This is NC State’s first trip to Auburn since 2006.

NC State concluded Atlantic Coast Conference action last weekend, hosting No. 21 Duke for a three-game series. The Wolfpack earned an 11-9 victory in game two, but the Blue Devils claimed the series.

Michele Tarpey leads NC State at the plate with a .364 average. She’s totaled 39 hits, including 11 for extra bases, and has scored 39 runs. Hannah Church is one of the deadliest bats in the lineup as she ranks second in the ACC and 10th nationally with 19 home runs this season. She also ranks ninth in the ftball-hosts-no-13-south-carolina-in-sec-finale-1 ACC with 53 RBI to her credit.

Carly Maxton has carried the bulk of the load in the circle for the Wolfpack. She holds a 3.65 earned run average with an 11-10 record. She leads the team with 103 strikeouts this season. Wynne Gore has added seven wins behind her 3.82 ERA.

Auburn is looking to end the regular season on a high note with another series win. The Tigers took down No. 13 South Carolina in a pair of games to clinch the series to conclude SEC play last weekend. With the rest of the league wrapping up conference action this weekend, Auburn will await its SEC Tournament matchup, which begins Tuesday in Athens, Georgia.

A finalist for NFCA D1 National Freshman of the Year, AnnaLea Adams continues to pace the Tiger offense. She concluded SEC play with a .392 batting average, which was the highest ever recorded by a Tiger freshman. She enters the weekend with a .415 overall average, which ranks ninth in the SEC and leads all SEC true freshmen.

She takes a 10-game hit streak into the NC State series and currently holds the second highest batting average and third highest slugging percentage (.720) recorded by an Auburn freshman. Despite not playing in nine of Auburn’s 51 games, the freshman still ranks in the top five on the team in hits (49), RBI (35), doubles (9), home runs (9) and total bases (85).

Auburn has surpassed its win total (29), team home run total (45) and team runs scored total (213) from a season ago. Auburn’s 56 home runs this season are currently the eighth most hit in a single season and the most slugged by the Tigers since 2023 (64). Auburn has scored 10 or more runs eight times this season after doing so only twice in 2024. Auburn is 8-0 when scoring 10 or more runs and 19-1 this season when scoring at least six runs.

Icess Tresvik leads the Tiger sluggers with 10 home runs. It marks the first time since her 2021 freshman season at North Carolina A&T that Tresvik has hit double-digit home runs in a season. She ranks 24th in the league in total home runs while her 16 stolen bases are good for ninth.

The reigning SEC Pitcher of the Week after tossing Auburn’s first one-hitter in league play since 2023, SJ Geurin ranks fourth in the SEC and 18th nationally in wins with 19. She’s looking to become just the 12th Tiger pitcher to record 20 or more wins in a single season.

Geurin has been directly involved in 23 of Auburn’s 30 victories by either recording the win or the save. She leads Auburn with a 2.87 ERA and 88 strikeouts.

Auburn boasts the second toughest schedule in the country as its opponents hold a .660 winning percentage entering the weekend. The Tigers are also one of 19 teams nationally to have 13 or more wins over teams currently ranked in the top 50 of the NCAA RPI.
