AUBURN, Ala. –
The Auburn men’s golf team is ranked in a tie for 11th in the Bushnell Golfweek Preseason Coaches Poll. The Tigers are one of nine SEC teams featured on the list. Texas, national runner-up this past season, is the top-ranked team.

“We have a top-five schedule and are looking forward to an outstanding season,” head coach Nick Clinard said. “The team is extremely positive and has a very high skill set. We are excited about the process of improving each and every week and competing against the best. The preseason ranking shows our program is healthy and competitive nationally each and every year.”

Southern California is No. 2 followed by Illinois, Oklahoma State, Vanderbilt, Florida, LSU, Stanford, Georgia and Oklahoma.

Auburn and California are tied for 11th followed by Clemson, Wake Forest, defending national champion Oregon, Alabama, South Carolina, Florida State, Arizona State and Arkansas.

Virginia is 21st followed by USF, Duke, Baylor and Kentucky.

The Tigers enter the 2016-17 season as one of only seven teams in the nation to make five-straight NCAA Championship appearances. They tee off the fall portion of the season as defending champions at the Carpet Capital Collegiate Sept. 9-11 at the Farm Golf Club in Dalton, Ga.
