AUBURN, Ala. - Making field goals in bunches? That's no problem for Daniel Carlson.

"I've done it hundreds of times, thousands of times in practice," he says.

He does it in games, too. Carlson tied a school record with six field goals, and scored all of Auburn's points to boot, to help the Tigers beat LSU 18-13 last Saturday. His accomplishments earned him a couple of more honors Monday - the Southeastern Conference special teams player of the week for the second time this season, and recognition as one of the Lou Groza Award national "Stars of the Week."

Carlson says he was just doing his job.

"When Coach calls my name, I've just got to answer. I'm happy I can do that. I'm happy the team could come out with a victory," Carlson said.

His third field goal Saturday night was the 50th of his Auburn career. His 51-yarder added to his school record of long distance kicks. He's made seven of 50 yards or longer.

His six field goals Saturday tied Al Del Greco's single-game record set against Kentucky in 1982.

Oh, yeah, he's hit 29 of his last 30 tries.

"Best kicker in college football," said coach Gus Malzahn.

Carlson, a finalist for the national Lou Groza Award last season and a contender again this year, said he doesn't remember scoring all of his team's points in a game as he did Saturday.

"I was definitely busy. But it was a lot of fun," he said.

The SEC's other weekly winners were Tennessee quarterback Joshua Dobbs on offense, Texas A&M end Armani Watts on defense, Texas A&M running back Traveon Williams as the top freshman, Ole Miss' Jordan Sims as the top offensive lineman, and Tennessee's Derek Barnett and Kentucky's Denzil Ware as the top defensive linemen.
