Auburn men's S&D set to take on Georgia Invitational

After a full fall slate that had Auburn's men's swimming and diving team rack up five dual meet wins and 16 NCAA provisional times, the team will close out the fall schedule this weekend at the Georgia Fall Invitational in Athens, Ga. The meet runs Dec. 2-4 at Georgia's Gabrielsen Natatorium.

Auburn goes into the meet ranked No. 17 in the latest CSCAA TYR Top 25 Swimming and Diving rankings. Other teams at scheduled to compete at the meet are No. 6 California, No. 10 Michigan, No. 13 Georgia, Florida State and Virginia.

Auburn's top medley relay foursome of Joe Patching, Michael Duderstadt, Luis Martinez and Peter Holoda account for 11 of the team's NCAA B cuts.

Patching owns a team-best five NCAA B cuts, picking them up in the 200 free (1:37.31), 100 back (47.79), 200 back (1:43.53), 200 IM (1:46.89) and 400 IM (3:47.89). His 200 back time is currently 22nd fastest in the country and his 400 IM time is 11th-best.

Duderstadt owns a NCAA B cut in the 100 breast at 53.73, which is 17th-fastest in the country, and Martinez has earned them in each of the butterfly events, with a 47.10 in the 100, the 22nd-fastest time in the nation, and a 1:46.50 in the 200.

Holoda's 50 free time of 19.82 is tied for the 17th-best time in the nation and gives him three provisional times along with his 100 free (43.85) and 100 fly (47.98).

Together the quartet has the 14th-fastest 200 medley relay time (1:26.88) and the ninth-fastest 400 medley relay time (3:10.03) in the country.

Auburn's remaining provisional times are from Tommy Brewer (100 breast/55.25), Kyle Darmody (100 back/48.46), Liam McCloskey (100 fly/47.91) and Hugo Morris (200 free/1:37.57 and 200 fly/1:47.12).

Auburn's divers have also had a huge impact during the fall season with Scott Lazeroff and Pete Turnham each turning in Zone Diving Qualifying Scores on all three boards. Lazeroff swept the springboard events during the Alabama dual meet and won the platform at the Georgia Tech Invitational two weeks ago. Turnham won the 1-meter during the Wisconsin dual meet.

Prelims sessions begin at 8:30 am CT each day. Finals begin at 4 pm on Friday and Saturday and 2pm on Sunday.
