AUBURN, Ala. - Auburn men's tennis hosted No. 13 Arkansas Sunday afternoon at the Yarbrough Tennis Center and the Razorbacks were victorious in a 7-0 decision in the SEC matchup.
"Arkansas played well today, but I saw some good things from us that will help moving forward," Auburn head coach Eric Shore said. "We started out in doubles and were doing well on one and three. but give Arkansas credit for fighting back and taking control. In singles, I see some positives from the weekend. We had some tactical errors today, but there are a number of good things we can build on for next weekend."
Arkansas won every first set in singles, although Marko Krickovic on court two and Olle Thestrup on court six took their first sets to tiebreakers.
The Razorbacks took the doubles point with wins on courts one and two. Dante Saleh and Conner Huertas del Pino were ahead 5-3 on court three, but that match went unfinished when the doubles point was clinched.
Auburn is now 9-7. The No. 13 Razorbacks are 14-4 overall and 4-2 in SEC action. Next weekend, the Tigers have a pair of SEC matches at No. 43 Alabama on Friday and at No. 25 Mississippi State on Sunday.
Auburn's next home match comes up Sunday, April 3, hosting No. 68 Vanderbilt at 1 p.m. CT. All home matches are played at the Yarbrough Tennis Center (771 Yarbrough Farms Blvd., Auburn) and admission is free.
