No. 17 Auburn Men's Golf set to host Tiger Invitational

AUBURN, Ala. - No. 17 Auburn Men's Golf is set to host the Tiger Invitational Presented by Jason Dufner Sunday through Tuesday at the par-72, 7,149-yard Grand National Lakes Course in Opelika.

The 19-team field consists of No. 25 Kennesaw State, Missouri, James Madison, West Virginia, Charlotte, Troy, Minnesota, UNCW, Georgia State, South Alabama, Maryland, Louisville, UNCG, Mississippi State, Kansas State, Arkansas State, Samford and Davidson.

Eight Tigers will play the course headed by seniors Will Long, Matt Gilchrest and Ryan Benton, junior All-America Ben Schlottman, sophomores Trace Crowe and Jacob Solomon and freshmen Jovan Rebula and Reagan Harrell.

Long, a native of Gastonia, N.C., leads the team at 70.78 strokes. He has four top 10 finishes in six events played this season, including a third-place finish at the Inverness Intercollegiate.

Gilchrest, a two-time All-SEC selection, is coming off a t-13th finish at the All American Intercollegiate. The Southlake, Texas, native is averaging 71.67, good for third on the team. Benton, a Dothan, Ala., product, is averaging 72.17. He tied for runner-up in the Tigers' first tournament of the season, the Carpet Capital Collegiate.

Crowe ranks second on the team at 70.92 strokes. The Bluffton, S.C., native has finished in the top-25 in 3-of-4 events played this season, and is coming off a t-25th performance at the All American Intercollegiate.

Solomon (72.50) has two top-20 finishes this season. Rebula, who ranks fourth on the team at 71.87 strokes, has three top-25 finishes including an eighth-place finish at the Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate.

Harrell, a native of Guntersville, Ala., will be making his collegiate debut.
