AUBURN, Ala. - Auburn's Max Hinnisdaels earned second team all-SEC honors in men's tennis as part of the year-end awards announced by the conference office Wednesday.
Hinnisdaels, a senior from Saint-Genesius-Rode, Belgium, is ranked No. 57 in singles nationally and No. 19 in doubles with Conner Huertas del Pino; as a tandem, they were 12-8 in doubles play this season. Hinnisdaels posted 65 singles wins and 43 doubles victories during his career.
Mississippi State's Nuno Borges was named Player of the Year, and Georgia's Nathan Ponwith is the 2017 Freshman of the Year. The 2017 Scholar-Athlete of the Year is Vanderbilt's Vikram Chari with a 3.9 GPA in Economics.
Georgia's Manuel Diaz was named SEC Coach of the Year for the fifth time. Georgia ended the conference season 11-1 and won the SEC tournament.
