AUBURN, Ala. ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" After this past Saturday's action, Auburn and Mississippi State is shaping up to be one of SEC's premier matchups when the two clash Sept. 30. The league announced Monday that the game, pitting two top-25 teams, will kick off at 5 p.m. CT from Jordan-Hare Stadium and will be televised on ESPN.
Auburn leads the all-time series against Mississippi State, 62-26-2, and has won 12 of the past 16 games against the Bulldogs. In last year's contest, the Tigers went to Starkville and won, 38-14, thanks in large part to Kamryn Pettway, who rushed for 169 yards and three touchdowns.
The winner of Auburn-Mississippi State game has gone on to play in a national championship or New Year's Six bowl in three of the last four seasons.
This weekend, Auburn will open up SEC play on the road at Missouri. The game is set to kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT and will be televised on ESPNU.
