BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Auburn soccer senior forward Kristen Dodson has been named to the 2017 SEC Community Service Team, the conference office announced Thursday.

The Community Service Team looks to highlight a student-athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts. The 2017 season marks the conference's 13th consecutive year announcing the team.

Along with her long list of accolades on the pitch, Dodson has served a plethora of hours at BraveHeart Center for Place and Purpose, where she supported and enhanced social skills, cognitive skills, work skills, creativity and self-esteem for young adults with developmental disabilities facing moderate to severe life challenges.

Specifically, Dodson developed an art program that served as a catalyst for being a role model to 18-25 year olds with disabilities.

Additionally, the Aurora, Ill., native has spent time with Habitat for Humanity, where she helped build homes for the local community. She has also been a key member for Serve Day, an annual day put on by Church of the Highlands that does a multitude of tasks to help the local community.
