Q&A with AuburnTigers.com

AuburnTigers.com: Why Auburn? What makes it special?

Dawson Sweatt: I chose Auburn for a few reasons. One of the main reasons is the atmosphere on and around campus. I instantly felt at home the first time I stepped foot on The Plains. I also chose Auburn because of the great academics, great baseball program and because it's close to home.

AT: What is your favorite thing about baseball?

DS: The things I love most about baseball are the competitive nature of the game and the relationships you're able to build with teammates. We are always competing and trying to get better. I also like the fact that the team is like a big family, and everyone is working toward the same goal.

AT: What can you say about the Auburn coaching staff?

DS: Before I met Coach Thompson, I already admired him because of how he develops his players and sets them up for success. However, once I met him in person, I instantly began to admire him on a different level; not only as a coach, but also as a man. He not only progresses his players on the field, but also in life. Coach Thompson has brought in some of the best coaches from across the nation to help build the Auburn program. To have the opportunity to play at a top-notch university like Auburn and for a mentor like Coach Thompson is a dream come true.

The next member of the Tigers' class will be announced Wednesday.
