AUBURN, Ala. ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃƒÆ'¢'¬" Auburn kicker Daniel Carlson was named to the 2017 SEC Community Service Team for football on Monday.
The SEC puts together a Community Service Team for each of its 21 league-sponsored sports, looking to highlight an athlete from each school in the conference who gives back to his community through superior efforts.
Carlson, already a member of the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, took two separate mission trips around the world this past off season and speaks with numerous youth and faith-based groups. He's active in visiting children's hospitals, and he's a frequent visitor to schools and after-school programs where he reads to the kids.
