AUBURN, Ala. - With the spring semester underway and the season just over a month from now, Auburn baseball head coach Butch Thompson announced Brody Moore as the newest member of the Tigers' 2018 signing class.

Plays at Oneonta (Ala.) High School for his dad, Brandon Moore ÃÆ'¢Ãƒ¢'¬¦ rated the fourth best shortstop and 36th best player in Alabama by Perfect Game ÃÆ'¢Ãƒ¢'¬¦ also tabbed a top 500 player in the class of 2018 ÃÆ'¢Ãƒ¢'¬¦ went 7-0 with a 1.36 ERA in 10 appearances on the mound as a sophomore ÃÆ'¢Ãƒ¢'¬¦ hit .426 with nine doubles, two triples and 21 RBI as a junior ÃÆ'¢Ãƒ¢'¬¦ two-time Honorable Mention All-State honoree by the Alabama Sports Writers Association ÃÆ'¢Ãƒ¢'¬¦ was a member of the North Team in the 2017 Alabama High School All-Star Games and was also selected to the 2017 Alabama Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Team ÃÆ'¢Ãƒ¢'¬¦ summer team is East Coast Sox, who finished the season ranked No. 8 in the nation ÃÆ'¢Ãƒ¢'¬¦ also plays high school basketball and is a member of the 1,000-point club ÃÆ'¢Ãƒ¢'¬¦ son of Brandon and Kerri Moore ÃÆ'¢Ãƒ¢'¬¦ his dad was an All-SEC player at Auburn (1991-94) and a member of the 1994 College World Series team ÃÆ'¢Ãƒ¢'¬¦ was drafted by the Chicago White Sox and spent seven seasons in the organization before moving on to a coaching career with the White Sox, Pirates and Royals ÃÆ'¢Ãƒ¢'¬¦ has one brother, Braden (13).

AuburnTigers.com: Why Auburn? What makes it special?
Brody Moore: Auburn is a place I have grown up around, and Auburn is home to me. I am excited to be there.
AT: What are your goals, both on and off the field?
BM: My goals are to push myself to be the best player and best teammate on the field. Off the field, my goals are to be the best student and classmate as I can be.
AT: What do you want to accomplish between now and getting to campus?
BM: I want to make it as far as possible during this basketball season, and then I want to win the championship this year in baseball. I think we have a really good chance. Most importantly, my goal is to focus on school and keep my grades high.
AT: What can you say about the Auburn coaching staff?
BM: I would say they are great coaches. When I talked to Coach Thompson I knew then that I wanted to play four years under him. I am very excited to work and get better under the Auburn coaching staff.
