GREENVILLE, N.C. - Senior right-hander Calvin Coker has been named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Stopper of the Year Watch List.
The Southeastern Conference had the most representation with eight players finding their names on the watch list, which includes 52 pitchers.
Coker, entering his second and final season with the Tigers, is coming off a junior campaign in which he led the team and ranked tied for third in the SEC with 31 relief appearances, which was the most for an Auburn pitcher since 2008. The Kyle, Texas, native went 3-3 with a 3.78 ERA and earned a pair of saves in SEC play.
The NCBWA will announce its midseason watch list on Apr. 25, the finalists on June 6, and the award winner on June 16.
Coker and the Tigers begin the 2018 season as Longwood comes to town for a three-game series beginning Friday, Feb. 16 at Plainsman Park.
