2004 Men's NCAA Champions
Best ever. That is how many will remember the 2004 Auburn men's swimming and diving team. The Tigers earned their fourth NCAA title in program history by dominating the field from the opening whistle, besting runner-up Stanford by 256.5 points, the second-largest margin of victory in meet history.
Led by Fred Bosquet, George Bovell, Derek Gibb and Ryan Wochomurka, better know as the "Four Horseman", Auburn claimed three relay titles along with individual wins from Bosquet (50 free), along with Bovell (200 IM) and Cesar Garcia (platform diving) both repeating as NCAA champions in their respective event. Auburn set two world records at the meet in East Meadow, N.Y., taking the best time ever in the 200 IM and 200 freestyle relay.
