Hill leads Tigers at Day 1 of Vandy Invite

Nashville, Tenn.—Freshman Dontavious Hill led the Auburn efforts during day one of the Vanderbilt Invitational Friday with a second-place finish after clearing a collegiate-best 2.13m/6-11.75, just missing his lifetime best of 2.14m.
 
Senior Kevin Wyss, competing indoors for the first time in two years, won bronze in the men's 5000m in 14:41.77. Teammate Silas Kipengetich was sixth in 14:56.79. Other highlights on Friday included Chiason Tenkiang's fifth in the men's 200m dash (21.92).
 
On the women's side junior Natosha Jordan was Auburn's top finisher, grabbing third in the high jump after clearing 1.70m/5-7. Teammate Skyler Daniel also cleared 1.70m to take sixth on misses.
 
Erin Perkins, coming off a personal-best effort in the season opener a week ago, was sixth in the women's weight throw with a toss of 18.96m/62-2.5.
