AUBURN, Ala. – Senior infielder Rankin Woley has been named to the 2020 CoSIDA Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Thursday.
A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Woley holds a 3.94 cumulative GPA and is set to graduate this summer with a degree in business administration from Auburn's Harbert College of Business.
Along with being named academic all-district, Woley was named Auburn's Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year at the annual AUSPY Awards last month. A season ago, he earned the NCAA Elite 90 Academic Recognition Award and was named to the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll.
On the diamond, Woley played and started in 82 of the team's 84 games in the last two seasons. He led the 2019 Tigers in doubles and ranked second on the team in hits and RBI as the program made its first appearance in the College World Series since 1997. Prior to the abrupt ending of the 2020 season, Woley paced the team in average, doubles and RBI. He was the only player in the country to rank in the top 20 in hits, doubles and RBI.
First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot, where All-America honorees will be selected and announced in June.
Auburn has had 10 players earn Academic All-American honors in program history.
