It's time for another Q&A Friday with Auburn women's basketball! In our fourth installment, we check in with rising sophomore guard Sania Wells.
What is your favorite thing about Auburn?
My favorite thing about Auburn is the family atmosphere. My teammates are like sisters to me.
What are your goals for the upcoming season?
This season I want us to win the SEC Tournament.
What advice would you give to any young athletes wanting to play college basketball?
I would tell any young athlete who is trying to play college basketball that once you make it there, continue to grind because there is always room to grow.
What is one of the biggest challenges of being a college athlete, and what do you do to overcome this challenge?
One of the biggest challenges for being a college athlete is knowing how to stay healthy. I had to change my diet when I got to Auburn. I did not know how important water was before I got here. I began drinking a lot more water.
What would you say is the biggest difference in play between high school level and collegiate level basketball, and how did you adjust?
The biggest difference between high school and college ball was knowing scoring was not everything. When I was in high school, all I focused on was scoring. Since I began playing under Coach Flo, I learned just how important defense was. I began going into games wanting to get a stop on defense instead of worrying only about scoring.
