AUBURN, Ala.—The Auburn indoor track and field team will compete in its second meet in as many weeks when it competes at the Bob Pollock Invitational, Friday and Saturday at the Clemson University Indoor Complex on the Clemson campus.

Auburn opened the 2021 indoor campaign at the Carolina Classic last Saturday with four Tigers winning individual events, including junior All-American Madi Malone who won the women's weight throw with a school record and national leading mark of 22.20m. For her efforts, Malone was named the SEC Co-Field Event Athlete of the Week.

Distance runner Presley Weems won the women's mile with a PR time of 4:45.97, while on the men's side Dontavious Hill and Kyle Brown each claimed gold. Both won their first collegiate competition with Hill claiming the high jump clearing 2.15m, while Brown had a PR toss of 20.23m en route to victory in the men's weight throw.

"I want to see some progression, I want to see people get a little tougher and be more aggressive as they compete and come in with a little more confidence," Auburn head coach Ralph Spry said of his team entering the weekend. "I'm trying to make sure that they're ready from a physical standpoint and engaged mentally so they can be aggressive. We've got this competition and three more before the conference championships."

Auburn will be one of 15 programs competing in the two-day meet. Other power five teams competing include Clemson, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Miami, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia Tech.

Friday's action will begin at 8:30 a.m. CT with the men's heptathlon 60m dash, while the women's pentathlon will start at 9 a.m. with the 60m hurdles. The first track event is slated for the women's 5k at 12 p.m., while the field events will start at 2 p.m. with the women's long jump, pole vault and weight throw.

Due to COVID protocol, no fans or spectators will be allowed inside the Clemson Indoor Track & Field Complex during the meet. Live results from the Bob Pollock Invitational can be found at: https://auburntige.rs/3ah3N68.
