AUGUSTA, Ga. – Auburn senior Kaleigh Telfer made the cut Thursday at the Augusta National Women's Amateur and will play Saturday's third round at Augusta National Golf Club.

Telfer shot a 76 (+4) in round two after firing a 74 (+2) to open the tournament Wednesday. At 6-over through two rounds, she's currently in a tie for 21st overall, securing her spot in the final round. Of the 82 golfers in the ANWA field, the top 30 made it through to the third round, which moves from the Champions Retreat Golf Course to Augusta National on Saturday.

Telfer closed Wednesday's first round with three birdies on the final four holes and finished with a total of six birdies through the first two rounds.

Two years ago, at the inaugural event, Telfer advanced by virtue of a playoff and proceeded to shoot a 1-under 71 in the final round at Augusta National. The 2020 WGCA All-American was one of eight golfers to shoot under par at Augusta and climbed to 12th on the final leaderboard.

This year, Telfer was joined by Auburn teammates Julie McCarthy and Megan Schofill. McCarthy shot 11-over to finish 51st overall while Schofill placed 70th at 15-over par. Though McCarthy and Schofill missed the cut, all three Tigers will play a practice round at Augusta National on Friday.

Saturday's final round will air live on NBC Sports from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. CT. In addition, Golf Channel's "Live From the Masters" will wrap up coverage of the Augusta National Women's Amateur on Saturday. You can also follow along at anwagolf.com.
