Nicholas Heng, out of Madison, Ala., has signed with Auburn and will join the Tiger men's tennis program next fall.
"Nicholas was our No. 1 recruit for 2023," Auburn head coach Bobby Reynolds said of the Tigers' fourth blue chip recruit in the past two years. "His character and integrity as a person align with the values of the players Auburn men's tennis is striving to recruit each year. It was evident from the beginning of the recruiting process that his energy, passion, leadership and work ethic set him apart from his peers.
"Nicholas' love for the game of tennis is evident through the huge smile on his face while practicing, competing or even walking around at the tennis courts.
"Nicholas' addition to our roster will make an immediate impact on our team in singles and doubles. His enthusiasm and fight on the court will be a draw for all Auburn fans to witness. We are excited for Nicholas to join our team in the fall and represent Auburn for years to come."
Ranked as the No. 1 recruit in the state of Alabama, Heng, who is graduating early, was a 2021 finalist in the USTA boys 18s national clay court championships. Holding a UTR of 12.75, he is rated as the No. 7 recruit in USA Tennis' 2023 recruiting class.
Auburn will begin spring semester dual match play Saturday, January 15, hosting North Alabama in a doubleheader at the Yarbrough Tennis Center.
