AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn track & field senior Madi Malone was named the SEC Women's Co-Field Athlete of the Week by the conference office Tuesday following a record-breaking performance over the weekend at the USA Jaguar Invitational.

The All-American threw for 23.32m/76-6.25 in the weight throw to finish first in a field of 33 competitors and break her own school by nearly a foot and a half.

Malone's mark ranks third nationally and sixth in the world. It was the farthest throw by any collegiate athlete, male or female, last week.

The honor is the second of Malone's career and the second for the Tigers this indoor season following teammate Dontavious Hill's award two weeks prior.
