WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Auburn soccer (2-0-2) wrapped its two-game road stint with another tie at Wake Forest (3-0-1) Sunday at Spry Stadium. Both teams traded blows, but neither found the back of the net, finishing at 0-0.

"Lots to learn from these games for sure, but they were two very challenging matches on the road," Tigers head coach Karen Hoppa said. "Today, I thought we grew into the game, again, but we've got to work on starting stronger and starting more aggressive from an offensive standpoint. Credit to our defense, they have looked great to start the year and have really kept us in ballgames."

The Demon Deacons outshot the Tigers 12-6, but Auburn still managed to place the majority of its opportunities on goal with four shots coming on target. Junior Anna Haddock and sophomore Sydnie Thibodaux led the Orange & Blue offense with two shots apiece.

Auburn's most dangerous chance came in the 41st minute as the Tigers were awarded a penalty kick following a Wake Forest foul. Haddock took the PK, aiming for the low right corner of the net, but the Demon Deacon keeper made the save to uphold the stalemate.

Junior goalkeeper Maddie Prohaska continued her dominant outing in the net, collecting five saves to lead the Tigers' outstanding defensive effort. Through 360 minutes of action this season, Prohaska has yet to allow a goal in the run of play, with the only one allowed coming via penalty kick.

Also holding down the back line were Hailey Whitaker, Madeline Moore, LJ Knox, M.E. Craven, Hayden Colson and Erin Houston. The sixsome only allowed the Demon Deacons to place five total shots on-goal. Craven went the distance at centerback for the third time this year.

The Tigers return to the friendly confines of the Auburn Soccer Complex with another top-25 matchup against No. 21 West Virginia Thursday, Sept. 1. Kickoff is slated for 6:30 p.m. CT.
