Three Tigers to participate in ITA All-American Championships

AUBURN, Ala. – Billy Blaydes, Nicholas Heng and Will Nolan will play for the first bids in this season’s NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships this week at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The draws feature 128 singles players and 32 doubles teams. Pre-qualifying rounds will be played Saturday and Sunday with 16 singles players and eight doubles teams advancing to the available spots in the qualifying draw. During Monday and Tuesday’s qualifying draw days, singles players and doubles players will compete for the 16 singles and eight doubles spots available in the main draw.

The main draw, which has 64 singles players and 32 doubles teams, will be played Sept. 25 through Sept. 29. From the main draw, eight quarterfinalists and two feed-in consolation finalists will punch their ticket to the NCAA Singles Championship later in the fall. Meanwhile, the four main draw quarterfinalists will secure a bid to the NCAA Doubles Championship.

Blaydes, Heng and Nolan will each be playing in the pre-qualifying draw beginning on Friday. Blaydes will face Adam Bojkovic of Tulsa at 10 a.m. CT, Heng will battle Duke’s Teddy Truwit at 8 a.m. CT and Nolan will begin his run at the singles championship against William Mroz of Illinois at 9:30 a.m. CT.

In the doubles pre-qualifying draw, Blaydes and Nolan will face off against UCLA’s Giacomo Revelli and Gianluca at 2 p.m. CT.

All three Tigers participated in the SEC Challenge to begin the season. Heng and Nolan each posted a couple of singles victories while Blaydes had one. Blaydes and Nolan were not doubles partners at the event, but did post a 5-3 overall record together last season.
