We stayed steady tonight. At the end of the day, that's going to be the biggest difference maker going through the year. It's a new offensive system and day-by-day process. We're going to continue to learn throughout the fall, but they are doing a good job of committing to that process.

Icess (Tresvik) is a true athlete. I still think there's another level to her game. Athleticism-wise, she could be one of the best players in the country. She's a true two-way player. As a hitter, she competes in the box. She's going to continue to develop throughout this fall.

I was nervous. My hands started sweating a little bit. I haven't started a game since my freshman year. I know my teammates have my back on defense. That's always comforting.

Tonight was a lot of fun. We have a lot of new players on our team. It's fun to see everyone's character show and see how well they communicate with each other.

We were able to get three pitchers in tonight. I was really impressed by their command. A lot of swings and misses and weak contact. That's what we're trying to do.
