1997 Men's NCAA Champions
Auburn's men won its first NCAA Championship at the University Aquatic Center in Minneapolis, Minn. in 1997. Led by four senior All-Americans and three Olympians, The Tigers left no doubt to the rest of the field who was number one. Brett Hawke made an impression in his first NCAA meet, setting the Auburn record for the 50 free at 19.16 en route to winning in the individual title. Auburn's strength throughout the week was its relay, taking gold in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays as well as the 200 and 400 medley relays.
