The 1999 Auburn Tigers brought the NCAA title back to the Plains, earning its second national championship in three seasons. The Tigers owned the relay events, picking up victories in the 200 and 400 freestyle relay, as well as the 200 and 400 medley relay. Aaron Ciarla continued to build on the legacy of the Auburn sprint corps, winning the 50 freestyle title. Brett Hawke swam on all four relays that won NCAA titles, while Dave Denniston (200 breast) and Lionel Morneau (200 IM) claimed the Tigers other two individual titles.
