Education: Nielson received his bachelor's degree in sports medicine from Central Michigan University in 2004 and received a graduate degree from Auburn University in 2007 in higher education.

Job Responsibilities: Nielson is currently responsible for working with the Sports Medicine Staff at Auburn University primarily with the football program. Anywhere from daily treatments with the student-athlete's, functional rehab, helping manage/progressing injured athletes in the weight room, communication with physicians and coaches, documentation and numerous other tasks associated with keeping the training room running.

Past Experience: Nielson first came to Auburn University in working as an intern with the Sports Medicine staff as part of finishing up his undergraduate degree. He stayed at Auburn and worked with the Softball program during the spring of 2005 as a GA. During the summer of 2005 Nielson returned to working football and spent the next 2 seasons with the team. During the spring of 2007 he joined the Atlanta Falcons as a seasonal intern and worked with Falcons and Georgia Force over the next year. In the summer of 2008 he returned to Auburn University in a Full-time position and has worked with the football program since.

Personal: Native of Dansville, Mich., Nielson is married to Abby Nielson from Ann, Arbor, Mich., and has two boys, Brian and Bryce.
