Job Description

Auburn Athletics seeks candidates for a Student Athlete Development Graduate Assistant to assist in day-to-day planning and execution of the Student-Athlete Development (SAD) programming for student-athletes.

Job Duties

Student-Athlete Development

  • Assist in day-to-day planning and execution of the Student-Athlete Development (SAD) programming for student-athletes
  • Assist in researching and scheduling speakers, seminars, and presentations
  • Developing surveys & providing feedback analysis
  • Compile data & graphics to be included in Annual Report
  • Plan, create, post and manage content for AuburnYOU social media platforms
  • Review and provide ideas/support for website updates
  • Provide administrative and operational support to CONNECT Leadership Academy and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee

Olympic Sport Recruiting

  • Administrative and operational support leading up to and during home football games
  • Administrative and operational support leading up, during and following all ticketed Olympic Sport events (Baseball, Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, Gymnastics, Softball)
  • Collect Data, Analyze Results and Create Report for Annual Recruiting Survey
  • Manage the library of University created recruiting materials, create folders to distribute to coaches and SADC

Alumni Engagement

  • Administrative and operational support leading up to and during home football games
  • Assist in planning and executing Alumni events and reunion (A Club)

WINGS

  • Assist in planning and executing WINGS member events (Fall & Spring)
  • Assist in planning and executing the WINGS mentoring event hosted for Student-Athletes each Spring
  • Manage member databases

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Must be accepted and/ or enrolled in the Graduate School at Auburn University.
  • Skilled in WordPerfect, Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint.
  • Possess strong work ethic and effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Be detail-oriented.
  • Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to respect and appreciate diversity within a unique campus community.
  • Able to work independently and creatively.
  • Preferable familiarity with the student-athlete population and services.
  • Must be available to work some nights and/or weekends when necessary.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the SASS staff, students, athletic departments and the campus community.

Job Description

Auburn Athletics is excited to begin the search for a Graduate Assistant to apply functional knowledge, skills, and abilities from the educational program related to the administration and coordination of physical and psychological impacts of exercise and nutrition! The benefits added to the student’s educational experience will be related to enhancing their ability to develop, program, and implement physically comprehensive and impactful activities as they interact with a variety of students.

Job Duties

  • Technical instruction, demonstration of technique and skills, motivation, development of discipline testing and evaluation of athlete’s performance related to area of strength and conditioning.
  • On floor supervision of the weight training facility for safety, motivation, technique in program, adjustments relative to all student athletes who utilize the facility.
  • Oversee maintenance and upkeep of facility and equipment.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as an Auburn University graduate student and registered for classes during each academic term of the assistantship.
  • Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified Certification (SCCC) or Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) required.
  • Strong organizational and computer skills (Microsoft Office).
  • The ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and meet established work deadlines.
  • Some evening and weekend hours required.
  • NSCA certified
  • 1-2 years of experience in a collegiate setting
