Job Description

Auburn Athletics is excited to begin the search for a Graduate Assistant – Event Management. This individual will assist the game manager or serving as game, manager/main point of contact at assigned sports and events, and preparing and distributing communications & materials for gameday operations.

Job Duties

  • Assisting the game manager or serving as game
  • Manager/main point of contact at assigned sports and events
  • Preparing and distributing communications & materials for gameday operations
  • Leading in event staffing scheduling, training and education – contracted and student staff
  • Assist with facility setup and credentialing
  • Managing all day-to-day office responsibilities as assigned
    • This position will apply functional knowledge, skills, and abilities from the educational program that are related to the administration and coordination of student affairs, management of student services, and student personnel administration. The benefits added will be related to enhancing their ability to develop, program, and implement student services administrative activities as they interact with a variety of students.
      • Candidates must possess excellent organizational and communication skills, and a willingness to work nights and weekend hours.

Qualifications

  • Admitted to a graduate degree-seeking or certificate program at Auburn University.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, sport management, or related field.
  • Registered for at least one course (anything carrying an Auburn University course number) during each academic term of the assistantship.

Expectations

  • Candidates must possess excellent organizational and communication skills, and a willingness to work nights and weekend hours.
  • We are looking for a candidate who desires to hold this position for two years.
  • Experience working in a collegiate or professional sport event management is preferred.

Job Description

Auburn Athletics is excited to begin the search for a Graduate Assistant to coordinate the operations of the hospitality venues, student workers, and special events, located on and off campus!

Job Duties

  • Organize and manage event logistics that may include but is not limited to setup, tear-down, securing vendors for rentals, entertainment, and security for Auburn athletic events.
  • Assists with issues related to the hospitality venues, with a special focus on customer relations, communications and problem solving.
  • Coordinates the support activities (catering and cleaning) of the hospitality venues in Auburn athletic facilities on game days and for special events.
  • Oversees student worker schedules for game days and special events.
  • Assists with leading, overseeing, and completing payroll.
  • Assists with creating invoices for events held at Auburn athletic facilities.

Qualifications

  • Admitted to a graduate degree-seeking or certificate program. 
  • Registered for at least one course during each academic term of the assistantship.

Expectations

  • Experience in a collegiate athletics events is strongly preferred.

Job Description

Auburn Athletics is excited to begin the search for a Special Event Intern! Interns with the Auburn Athletics Special Event Crew assist with the planning and execution of special events, as well as any administrative duties necessary.

Internship – Spring 2025

Job Duties

  • Assist with the planning and execution of special events.
  • Learn and become familiar with all Auburn Athletics venues.
  • Form relationships with vendors and clients.
  • Assist in daily administrative duties such as filing, copying, and printing.
  • Assist in the guidance of setup and breakdown for special events.
  • Assist Event Coordinator.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work in variable weather conditions with loud crowd noise
  • Ability to work both weekdays and weekends, 10 -20 hours a week
  • Ability to work during all Auburn Athletics home games
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Working knowledge of the following Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as basic audio-visual knowledge
  • Ability to independently interpret and follow any verbal or written instruction, including floorplan and event details, with minimal supervision.

Expectations

  • Enrolled student at Auburn University
  • At least 18 years of age
