Auburn Cross Country Teams Set To Compete At Crimson Classic

AUBURN - Auburn's men's and women's cross country teams are traveling to Tuscaloosa, Ala., for the University of Alabama's Crimson Classic on Friday, Sept. 20. The women's 5,000-meter race will start at 5 p.m. and be followed by the men's 8,000-meter race at 5:30 p.m.

The Tigers are coming off of top-three finishes in their season-opening meet at the UT-Chattanooga Opener. The women finished the meet in third place with freshman Angela Homan leading the way with a second place time of 11:29. Freshman Andrew Heath helped lead the men to a second place finish by placing third in a time of 15:49.

This week's race will be held at Harry Prichett golf course where the Tigers will face 16 teams including Southeastern Conference opponents Alabama, Ole Miss and Mississippi State.

A release of individual and team results from the competition will be available following the men's race. They will also be available at www.cfpitiming.com and www.rolltide.com.
