AUBURN ââ'¬" The Auburn cross country teams will play host to 29 women's teams and 27 men's teams on Sat., Oct. 19, at Indian Pines Golf Course. The Auburn Invitational will start at 8 a.m. with the men's 8,000-meter race and continue with the women's 5,000-meter race at 9 a.m.
The Tigers will compete against SEC opponents Georgia, Vanderbilt, Kentucky and Ole Miss. The University of Iowa, Clemson, Mercer, Akron, Stephen F. Austin and Southern Methodist, to name a few, will also participate in the meet.
A release of individual and team results from the meet will be available following the women's race on www.cfpitiming.com and www.auburntigers.com.
The Tigers are coming off of an open weekend after traveling to Salem, Ore., on Oct. 5, where the women placed second and the men finished fourth in the Willamette Invitational. So far this season, the men have finished all of their meets in the top five, while the women have finished in the top three.
The team will be in action again on Nov. 4, when they travel to Gainesville, Fla., to compete in the SEC Championships.
Directions to Indian Pines Golf Course:
From I-85, take exit 57 ââ'¬" West. When you get to the stoplight, make a left. At the next light, Glenn, make a right. The golf course will be on your right, before you get to the railroad tracks.
Tigers Excited To Host Home Meet
The Auburn Tigers have competed in three meets so far this season and have come on strong, but they are glad to be on their home turf to host the Auburn Invitational. They hope that having home team advantage, this weekend, will give them an edge over the tough competition.
This weekend's invitational will take place at Indian Pines Golf Course with the men starting at 8 a.m. and the women following at 9 a.m. SEC opponents, Georgia, Vanderbilt, Kentucky and Ole Miss will be few of the schools competing against the Tigers for the title.
After hosting the Auburn Invitational, the team will head to Gainesville, Fla., for the SEC Championships on Nov 4.
Top Finishers at the Willamette Invite
Auburn competed at the Willamette Invitational in Salem, Ore., on Oct. 5, where the women took second with 47 points, while the men finished fourth with 86 points.

Wanyoike Leads The Way
Auburn's top runner Catherine Wanyoike will look to add to the impressive times she has put up so far this season. The Kiambu, Kenya native, has finished the two races she competed in this season in first and second, respectively.
