AUBURN MEN TAKE TEAM TITLE
The Tiger men's cross country team won their second team title this season with 127 points on October 10 at their home invitational. The men defeated SEC's opponents, Tennessee (3rd), Mississippi State (10th), LSU (12th) and Vanderbilt (16th) among others in the 29-team field.

For the third time this season, sophomore Andrew Heath led the men across the finish line. Heath finished the race in fifth place with a career best 25:21.26 in the 8K. Freshman Scott Fuqua turned in his best performance in the 8K this season with an 11th place showing (25:35.00).

Auburn's women also fared well in their annual home invitational. The women placed third, only nine points behind the leader, in the 32-team spread. Mississippi State earned both the team and individual titles in Auburn's meet, with Indiana finishing second.

Angela Homan continues to dominate the Auburn team, finishing third at the Tigers meet. Auburn placed three runners in the top-25; Homan (third), Catherine Wanyoike (fifth) and Dawn Morgan (20th). Morgan had her best showing of her two-year career as a Tiger.

HOMAN AND WANYOIKE PACE TIGERS
Sophomore Angela Homan and senior Catherine Wanyoike have paced Auburn at all three meets this season. Homan earned the individual title at the season opener in Chattanooga, with Wanyoike following closely at second. In New York at the J.P. Doyle Meet of Champions, Homan ran to a third place finish and Wanyoike came in 10th.

At the annual Auburn Invitational, held at Indian Pines Golf Course, Homan finished just a little more than 20 seconds behind the leader to place third. Wanyoike came in fifth with a time of 18:11.93.

Wanyoike qualified for the NCAA Championships last season and placed 74th. Homan has competed in the World Championships and Junior Nationals.

AUBURN MOVES UP IN THE RANKINGS
The United States Cross Country Coaches Association has Auburn ranked the Tigers fifth in the south in the 15-team spread (as of Oct. 13). After defeating Tennessee and Georgia Tech on October 10 at home, the men's team helped move Auburn up. Auburn is now just ahead of Georgia Tech (sixth) and Tennessee (seventh).
