AUBURN - Auburn's men's and women's cross country teams will travel to Starkville, Miss., for the Bulldog Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 25. The women's teams will compete in the 4K and 3K beginning at 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. respectively. The men's 5K and 6K races are set to begin at 9:50 a.m. and 10:15 a.m.
Coming off a win at the Auburn Invitational on Oct.10, the Tiger men are looking to extend their success when they compete on Saturday.
Sophomore Andrew Heath has been Auburn's top performer at all three meets this season and set a new career-best time in the 8K at the Auburn meet. Heath looks to pace the Tigers again on Saturday in the races.
On the women's side, sophomore Angela Homan and senior Catherine Wanyoike are favored to place well in the MSU meet. At the Auburn Invitational two weeks ago, the women finished third behind Mississippi State and Indiana. Homan was the top runner for the Tigers for the third time this year. She placed third in the meet, with Wanyoike coming in fifth. Both runners have finished in the top 10 at all three meets this season.
This week's race will be held at the Mississippi State Cross Country Course at South Farm.
A release of individual and team results from the competition will be available following the men's race. Please visit www.mstateathletics.com, for updated results on Saturday.
