AUBURN â€" The Auburn softball team scored twice in the first inning and held off a feisty Furman team, 3-1, to advance to Sunday's championship game of the Tiger Invitational.
Auburn got started in the first on Martha Phillips two-run double that was a foot short of clearing the fence in left-centerfield. The blast scored Kristina McCain and Sara Dean.
Lauren Walton scored for the Tigers in the fifth. She reached on a bunt single and stole second before McCain doubled down the left field line to bring her home.
Keyes carried a perfect game into the seventh before allowing a walk and an infield single. La Kerah Barr scored on the hit by Joni Lockridge after stealing both second and third.
