Tigers Host Annual Auburn Invitational
The Tigers welcome four Southeastern Conference schools
and several non-conference opponents to The Plains on Oct.
11 for the annual Auburn Invitational. The meet will be held
on the Indian Pines Course in Auburn, with the men's 8K
kicking off at 9:30 a.m. and the women's 5K to follow at 10:30
a.m.

The 2003 Auburn Invitational
On the men's side, Auburn took home the team title by
defeating sec foe Tennessee for the first time in 20 years.
Andrew Heath was the top finisher for the Tigers, placing
fifth. Scott Fuqua was the next finisher as he came in 11th.
Auburn's women finished third as a team, but Angela Homan
took home the individual title in 17:49.60. Catherine
Wanyoike was the next runner for the Tigers to finish, placing
fifth.

Last Time Out
Auburn's last competition was Sept. 25 at the Paul Short Run,
where the men's team finished in an impressive third place and
the women came in 10th. Angela Homan dominated the
women's field by capturing her second individual title this season
in record time.

And the Winner is...
Angela Homan was awarded the SEC Female Cross Country
Athlete of the Week (Sept. 27) after her personal best performance
at the Paul Short Run. In the 6K, Homan set a
new personal best time of 20:27.39, bettering her old mark
by 20 seconds.
