BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- For the fourth time in her career, Auburn senior Angela Homan was chosen as the Southeastern Conference Female Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference on Tuesday afternoon.
Homan received the honor for her performance at the season-opening Florida State Invitational on Sept. 17, where she picked up her ninth career victory. Homan won the 5K with a time of 17:38.25, 10 seconds faster than her closest competitor. The victory for Homan was the fifth consecutive regular season event she has won dating back to the 2003 season. In all, Homan has won six of her last seven events and eight of her last 11.
This is the fourth time the Delphos, Ohio, native has been awarded as the SEC Female Athlete of the Week, but the first since winning the Auburn Invitational on October 11, 2004.
