Columbia, S.C. - The Tigers started the match off strong, winning game one, but South Carolina finished ahead winning, 23-30, 30-27, 30-24, 30-21, to move to 11-14, 4-12 (SEC). Tiger sophomore Rachel Shanks posted her seventh double-double of the season and her second consecutive.

For the match, senior Jennifer Amobi led the offense for the 12th straight time with 17 kills on 47 attempts Friday evening. Shanks contributed 13 kills on 32 attempts for an attack of .250. She also posted 14 digs to tie with Bailey Veit for the team lead. With one match remaining, Veit needs just eight kills to become the sixth player ever at Auburn to reach the 1,000 career dig plateau.

Julie Bosler turned in four blocks (two solo) to move into fourth-place all-time at Auburn for career solo blocks with 61. Joanna Pappas assisted the team on 47 plays and also contributed eight kills and five digs.

After trailing by five in the beginning of game one, Auburn tied the score at 13 and never looked back, taking control and the eventual win, 30-23. The Tigers led by as much as eight at the end of the game led by Amobi with six kills on eight attempts and no errors (.750). AU posted 21 digs in game one compared to just 10 by the Gamecocks.

The team's battled back and forth in game two before South Carolina evened the match at one game a piece, 30-27. After two games, Amobi led the offense with 10 kills on 21 attempts (.286) and Bailey Veit was the defensive leader with 11 digs.

Game three saw five tied situations and two lead changes as the Gamecocks picked up the win, 30-24. The Tigers improved its attack percentage, .162, from game two (.095) but could not match its outstanding performance from the first game (.212). South Carolina posted four more kills and had eight more digs than AU.
