CLEMSON, S.C. - The Auburn women's track and field team sent three athletes to compete at the Clemson Pentathlon Championships Friday. Sophomore Jasmine Johnson led the Tiger contingent, finishing seventh out of 17 competitors with 3,273 points. Freshman Danielle Threatt was ninth with 3,105 points, while junior Michelle Williamson placed 10th (3,092).
Johnson's point total was a personal best and ranks her fifth on Auburn's all-time indoor pentathlon list. She posted her best finishes in the long jump, placing fourth with a leap of 5.44m, and the shot put, finishing sixth with a toss of 10.11m. Johnson finished eighth in both the 800m (2:38.88) and the 60m hurdles (8.89) and was 14th in the high jump (1.42m).
Threatt had her best finish in the high jump, tying for fifth with a mark of 1.63m. She placed ninth in the long jump (5.22m), 11th in the 800m (2:39.51), 12th in the 60m hurdles (9.71) and 15th in the shot put (7.53m).
Williamson tied for first in the high jump, clearing 1.75m. She also finished 10th in the long jump (5.09m), 11th in the 60m hurdles (9.53), 14th in the shot put (8.17m) and 16th in the 800m (2:58.45).
Auburn will compete at the Pepsi Invitational in Gainesville, Fla., on Sunday, Feb. 5.
